Prayers to Archangel Sachiel for Wealth & Jupiterian Favor
Archangel Sachiel belongs to a different current of prosperity than the simple idea of “attracting money.” His traditional sphere is Jupiter, the planet of increase, honors, dignities, favorable alliances, prosperity and advancement into a larger position in life.
The Heptameron names Sachiel as the great angel presiding over Thursday and explicitly invokes him through Jupiter. The text also gives saffron as the fumigation of Thursday.
The Key of Solomon gives an even clearer picture of Jupiterian magic. It describes the days and hours of Jupiter as suitable for obtaining honors, acquiring riches, forming friendships and preserving health. Its Jupiter pentacles concern glory, dignities, wealth, tranquility, relief from poverty and elevation into the company of princes.
That is the Sachiel I work with here.
I would approach him not merely because I want more cash, but because I want the conditions of my life to expand: greater resources, a stronger position, useful patrons, favorable judgment, increased authority and opportunities that were previously beyond my reach.
The Thursday Working of Sachiel
When I want to make the prayer into a fuller magical operation, I prefer Thursday and, where practical, a planetary hour of Jupiter.
I place my written petition before me and light a candle. I favor deep blue for Jupiter in my own work. For the fumigation, the Heptameron specifically gives saffron for Thursday, while related manuscript material also permits frankincense.
The petition should be written in Jupiterian terms. I do not simply write “give me money.” I state the form of expansion I am seeking: increased income, advancement into a better position, favor from an influential person, success in an important decision, reconciliation with someone useful to my cause, relief from financial restriction or greater authority over my affairs.
I then call Sachiel by name and state the request aloud before speaking the appropriate prayer.
Jupiter is expansive, but expansion needs somewhere to go. The more clearly the objective is defined, the easier it is to recognize when circumstances begin moving in that direction.
Prayer to Sachiel for Wealth and Increase
Jupiterian Prayer
Use when the objective is material expansion, increased income and the multiplication of productive resources.
Sachiel, great angel of Thursday and minister of the power of Jupiter, I call upon you.
Bring increase into the parts of my life that are capable of bearing fruit.
Enlarge my resources and strengthen the channels through which prosperity reaches me.
Let profitable work multiply rather than remain scarce.
Let what I build gain substance, reach and value.
Where my circumstances have become too narrow, widen them.
Where useful opportunity exists beyond my present reach, bring me closer to it.
Teach me to recognize the difference between genuine expansion and empty distraction, so that my effort is placed where increase can actually occur.
Let greater income be joined by the judgment required to preserve and multiply it.
Sachiel, let the current of Jupiter enlarge my material condition and bring prosperity into visible form.
Prayer to Sachiel for Honor, Status and Advancement
Jupiterian magic traditionally concerns more than wealth. The Key of Solomon repeatedly associates Jupiter with honors, dignities and elevation in status.
Grimoire-Based Adaptation
Use for promotion, recognition, authority, professional advancement or movement into a more powerful position.
Sachiel, angel of Jupiter, raise my position where I am capable of carrying a greater one.
Bring my abilities into the sight of those whose judgment can advance my cause.
Increase the respect given to my work and let my name carry greater weight where it matters.
Open the way toward positions of greater authority, responsibility and reward.
Remove the ceiling imposed by circumstances that have become too small for what I am capable of doing.
Let recognition follow merit.
Let greater responsibility bring greater reward rather than greater burden alone.
Give me the bearing required to occupy a higher station without becoming diminished by it.
Where advancement is available, make the road visible.
Sachiel, enlarge my station and establish me where my influence can grow.
Prayer to Sachiel for Favor From Powerful People
One of the most useful Jupiterian operations is the gaining of favor from people who possess authority, resources or the ability to open doors. Prosperity often arrives through human relationships long before it appears as money.
Planetary Prayer
Use before approaching employers, patrons, clients, officials, investors, decision-makers or other influential people.
Sachiel, whose current brings favor, dignity and fortunate alliance, go before me.
Incline those with power to regard my cause favorably.
Bring me into contact with people whose position can genuinely expand my opportunities.
Let my value be understood rather than overlooked.
Where cooperation would benefit both sides, make that advantage apparent.
Remove needless hostility and suspicion from those whose decisions affect me.
Bring patrons who keep their word, allies whose influence is real and clients capable of rewarding good work properly.
Protect me from dependence upon those who promise much but possess neither the power nor the intention to deliver it.
Let my dealings with powerful people strengthen my position rather than diminish it.
Sachiel, place me in favorable company and open doors that cannot be opened by effort alone.
Prayer to Sachiel for Favorable Judgment and Justice
The Jupiter current is also strongly connected with authority, law, judgment and the proper ordering of affairs. I would use this prayer when an important outcome depends upon someone else’s decision.
Practical Jupiterian Prayer
Use for negotiations, legal matters, administrative decisions, settlements, approvals and situations where a fair judgment is required.
Archangel Sachiel, stand over the judgment that concerns me.
Let the facts that favor a just outcome be seen clearly.
Bring reason into those who must decide and prevent prejudice, confusion or hostility from ruling where fairness should prevail.
If my cause is sound, strengthen it.
If an agreement can be reached without unnecessary conflict, open the road toward it.
Incline those with authority toward proportion, fairness and good judgment.
Let favorable terms emerge where there is room for negotiation.
Keep me from weakening my own position through impatience or poor judgment.
Bring this matter toward an outcome that restores order rather than creating greater disorder.
Sachiel, let justice be joined with favor and let the decision before me turn toward a worthy resolution.
Prayer to Sachiel for Peace and Reconciliation
This is one of the more interesting aspects of the old Thursday material. Jupiter is not merely expansive. It can also be conciliatory. The Key of Solomon connects Jupiterian hours with friendship, while related planetary magic repeatedly treats Jupiter as favorable for restoring social harmony and useful alliances.
Jupiterian Prayer
Use when conflict has become an obstacle and reconciliation would produce a stronger outcome than continued hostility.
Sachiel, bring the generous and reconciling power of Jupiter into this conflict.
Reduce the bitterness that prevents useful communication.
Let pride loosen where it serves no purpose.
Bring both sides toward terms that preserve dignity without prolonging unnecessary hostility.
Where misunderstanding has created conflict, reveal what was misunderstood.
Where anger has become larger than the original cause, reduce it to its proper measure.
Restore goodwill where goodwill can still be restored.
Let reconciliation create something stronger than what existed before the dispute.
I do not ask for submission disguised as peace. I ask for an arrangement that enlarges rather than diminishes what is possible.
Sachiel, turn hostility toward agreement and restore the conditions under which prosperity can return.
Prayer to Sachiel Against Poverty and Financial Constriction
The Jupiter pentacles of the Key of Solomon include operations explicitly concerned with riches and relief from poverty. One of them uses the image of the poor being raised from low condition and placed among princes.
That is a very different magical image from simply attracting a lucky payment. It is an operation of elevation.
Solomonic Adaptation
Use when debt, scarcity or persistent financial restriction has reduced your freedom of action.
Sachiel, power of Jupiter, raise me out of constriction and into greater material freedom.
Break the pattern in which everything I gain is consumed before it can become strength.
Bring relief to burdens that have remained too long.
Increase what enters my hands and improve my ability to retain what is useful.
Open opportunities capable of changing my position rather than merely delaying difficulty.
Where debt can be reduced, create the conditions for reduction.
Where better terms can be obtained, bring them within reach.
Where a greater source of income is required, open the road toward it.
Lead me from financial reaction into financial command.
Let each burden removed create greater room for growth.
Sachiel, lift me from restriction and establish me in circumstances where prosperity can accumulate.
A Short Thursday Invocation to Sachiel
This is the form I would use for a brief Thursday candle working when I do not need a longer prayer.
Grimoire-Based Adaptation
For use on Thursday, preferably with saffron or frankincense as the fumigation.
Sachiel, great angel who presides over Thursday, hear my petition.
By the expansive virtue of Jupiter, bring increase where increase is deserved.
Raise my position.
Bring favorable people into my affairs.
Let prosperity replace constriction and good judgment replace uncertainty.
Open before me those roads that lead toward greater wealth, dignity, peace and authority.
Let what is worthy of growth become larger.
Sachiel, labor in my cause and let the virtue of Jupiter move through my affairs.
Why Sachiel Is More Than an Angel of Money
The modern phrase “angel of wealth” is convenient, but it reduces a much larger magical current to one outcome.
The Jupiter material in the Key of Solomon speaks of riches, but it also speaks of glory, honors, dignities, friendship, tranquility and elevation. One Jupiter pentacle is specifically described as useful for acquiring glory, honors and wealth. Another is directed against poverty and contains the image of the needy being raised up to sit among princes.
That is a much better picture of Jupiterian magic.
Jupiter enlarges.
It can enlarge wealth, but it can also enlarge reputation, authority, access and the number of people willing to support your cause.
A person who gains a powerful patron, greater professional authority or entry into a better circle of opportunity may have received a far greater Jupiterian benefit than someone who simply receives an unexpected payment.
For that reason, I would not restrict Sachiel to emergency money work.
I would call upon him when I want my overall position to become greater than it presently is.
What Can You Ask Archangel Sachiel For?
Sachiel is particularly suited to wealth, honors, advancement, recognition, useful friendships, favorable judgment, patronage, debt relief, reconciliation and expansion into a more prosperous position.
He is also appropriate when the problem is not that you lack ability, but that your environment gives that ability too little room to operate.
That is the essence of the Jupiterian current as I understand it in practice. Receiving more, but also becoming spiritually capable of occupying more.
Very interesting and informative article. Are you gonna make articles about Roman gods themselves?
That’s a good idea, thanks.
