Leraje: Goetic Demon of Victory (Full Ritual Guide)

Leraje, also rendered as Leraikha or Leraie, is the 14th spirit of the Ars Goetia, holding the rank of Marquis. His dominion lies in sowing conflict, inspiring warriors, and influencing outcomes in competitive or hostile situations.

Traditionally, Leraje is said to cause wounds to putrefy and to stir enmities between men. But in the hands of a magician with precision and discipline, these qualities can be refined into potent tools for victory in personal and professional rivalries, strategic maneuvering in business, and removing obstacles posed by competition.

This is the main reason for summoning him in a modern, corporate or business context, or perhaps a rivalry in personal relationships.

Leraje’s Attributes

In Ars Goetia he is described as a powerful archer, a spirit of the hunt who understands pursuit, timing, and the decisive strike.

To work with Leraje in an invocational manner leads to sharpened focus and ability to act at the opportune moment with maximum effect.

I often call upon him not for wanton conflict, but when a competitive environment demands I outperform others.

This could be securing a contract, winning a negotiation, or simply ensuring that the environment is tilted in my favor.

Planet of Demon Leraje

Leraje’s planetary association is with Mars, the planet of war, assertion, and decisive action. Mars’ energy is direct, unyielding, and well suited to Leraje’s nature.

This influence makes him ideal for tasks where a direct confrontation (physical or in other arenas) is unavoidable.

Best Times for Ritual Work

The most potent times to summon Leraje are during the hour of Mars on a Tuesday, when the planet’s martial energies are at their peak.

If you wish to amplify results further, work during a waxing moon if your aim is to gain advantage or expand your dominance, and a waning moon if you intend to remove rivals or end disputes in your favor.

However, as I always say, this is a plus, not a necessity. A demon can be summoned at any time if you have the skill and the sufficient psychic power to connect.

Metal of Leraje

The metal aligned with Leraje is iron, as with most martial spirits. Iron has long been associated with weapons, armor, and the tools of decisive action. It is the lifeblood of warriors, both literal and symbolic.

Symbolism of Iron in Relation to Leraje

Iron embodies strength, endurance, and cutting through opposition. It is unyielding, much like Leraje’s determination once a target is fixed.

In occult terms, iron disrupts spirit activity when unwanted, but here it serves as a resonant link to his martial essence.

How to Use Iron in Rituals for Leraje

A small iron arrowhead, nail, or knife can be consecrated and placed within the Triangle of Manifestation to serve as an anchor for Leraje’s presence.

If unavailable, even a steel blade (modern iron alloy) will carry much of the same virtue. In competitive workings, I have kept such a consecrated object in my pocket during negotiations, to draw upon more of his influence.

Another option is to carry a consecrated sigil, either his original or one created during the summoning for this precise purpose. I often create a custom sigil for clients that links the spirit’s influence to their specific request.

Element of Leraje

Leraje’s element is Air, which is fitting for an archer whose skill relies on trajectory, precision, and the unseen forces that guide the arrow.

Air’s Connection to Leraje

Air governs strategy, intellect, communication, and the swiftness of thought.

Leraje does not simply win through brute force; he positions his magician in the right place at the right time, often through subtle shifts in conversation, perception, and decision-making.

Using Air in Rituals

Wind, incense smoke, or even the movement of a feather can be used as Air’s representation. In my own workings, I prefer a slow-burning frankincense or a mix of storax and sandalwood. The smoke becomes a visual metaphor for Leraje’s invisible yet decisive influence.

Astrological Sign Assigned to Leraje

Leraje is associated with Sagittarius, the Archer, an alignment that could not be more literal or symbolically fitting.

Sagittarius’s Influence on Leraje

Sagittarius bestows optimism, far-sighted vision, and strategic targeting of goals. This sign’s fire aspect overlays Leraje’s airy precision, granting him the ability to not only aim true but to aim at the right targets for long-term gain.

How to Work with Leraje in Astrological Timing

The Sun, Moon, or Mars in Sagittarius marks a powerful time to summon Leraje for strategic action, archery of the will, or decisive intervention in rivalries.

Offerings to Demon Leraje

Traditional offerings include red wine, a symbolic nod to both victory and the spilling of blood (metaphorically in competition).

Dried bay leaves can be burned as incense. Metallic or wooden arrow replicas, painted green, can be placed upon the altar. I have also found that placing a single target board or archery motif pleases him greatly.

Attuning to Leraje’s Energy

Attuning to a demon’s energy is a lighter form of invocation. It is not a direct summoning where the demon is fully attentive to your request, as is the case with the rituals I do for myself and my clients. But it is a way to assume some of the characteristics of the spirit which you may find useful.

For Leraje, this process is especially potent when performed in a calm yet alert state. Ideally, choose a Mars hour on a Tuesday, when his martial current flows strongest.

Instructions:

Dim the room so that the only illumination comes from a green candle on your left and a red candle on your right, representing his precision and his power.

Place a small dish of bay leaves and a separate charcoal disc upon which frankincense resin will burn. These scents will carry his airy yet disciplined presence into the space.

Sit before the setup in a straight-backed posture, feet firmly grounded. Before you begin, take several deep breaths, inhaling through the nose and exhaling slowly through the mouth, as if drawing in stillness and exhaling all mental chatter.

This is not yet the time for complex requests. Here, your goal is to listen and to let your aura take on the texture of Leraje’s current.

When you are ready, light the candles, ignite the charcoal, and add the bay leaves followed by the frankincense. Watch the smoke spiral upward and begin to chant his enn (which you can hear in the video above for pronunciation) slowly and deliberately:

“Caymen vefa Leraje.”

Allow the words to roll into a rhythm, your voice merging with the candlelight and the smoke. At first, you may feel nothing; then, gradually, there will be a shift.

The air may seem denser, your senses sharper, or your heartbeat more pronounced. This is the sensation of Leraje’s awareness brushing against your own. You are not calling him to stand before you, you are allowing your mind to meet his on a parallel track.

Remain in this attuned state for at least ten minutes, then gently slow your chanting until it fades into silence. Extinguish the candles in reverse order (red first, green second), thanking Leraje silently for the contact.

After the attunement:

Over the following days, you may notice subtle shifts such as a greater sharpness in decision-making, a sense of timing in conversations, or a calm under pressure. These are signs that his current has left its imprint.

Again, I must reiterate that summoning rituals are more powerful than attunements, but attunements can have a part in an occultist’s arsenal, especially in situations when smaller and more gradual effects are preferred.

Grand Invocation of Leraje for Competitive Victory

The following operation is not a simple petition. It is a full-scale ceremonial invocation, calling Leraje into direct presence to empower you with his precision, remove opposition, and give you strategic advantage in any competition or rivalry.

This is the type of working best reserved for moments where success carries tangible rewards. For example securing a contract, displacing a rival, winning over someone ahead of your rival in romantic context etc.

8.1. Best Timing for the Ritual

  • Day: Tuesday (Day of Mars)
  • Hour: Hour of Mars
  • Moon Phase: Waxing Moon for building advantage; Waning Moon for neutralizing rivals
  • Astrological Edge: Mars strong by sign or aspect, especially in Sagittarius

8.2. Preparatory Purification

On the day before the ritual, abstain from excessive socializing, alcohol, and sexual activity. Spend at least 10 minutes in meditative breathwork to steady the mind. After all, Leraje’s current rewards precision and clarity, not scattered desire.

Before the rite, bathe in water infused with bay leaf and optionally crushed juniper. As you dry yourself, visualize shedding all fear of confrontation and doubt.

8.3. Ritual Setup & Tools

Altar Cloth: Green (precision and focus) with a strip of red (decisive action).
Candles: Two green (focus), two red (power), one black (to bind and still rivals).
Incense: Frankincense, bay leaves, storax.
Offerings: A small cup of red wine, a bronze or iron arrowhead (or a symbolic arrow), laurel leaves.
Other Tools: Consecrated dagger or sword (symbolizing Mars), a parchment bearing Leraje’s sigil drawn in green ink, a clean iron nail to act as a personal talisman.

You should also print Leraje’s sigil, draw it yourself or carve it on a metal plate and place it on the altar.

The Triangle of Manifestation is placed in the northeast, inscribed with Leraje’s sigil at its center. The Circle of Strategic Power (your protective circle) is marked on the floor with chalk or consecrated salt, with the four elemental points clearly marked.

8.4. Opening the Rite

  1. Banishing – Perform your preferred banishing rite (e.g., LBRP or Star Ruby), visualizing the space as an open field under a sky streaked with wind — the hunting ground of Leraje.
  2. Elemental Awakening – Beginning in the east, call the four elemental kings, but give special emphasis to Air:
“I call upon the winds of the east, sharpen my mind, guide my aim.”
  3. Lighting of Flames – Light the green candles on the left, red candles on the right, and the black candle in the center rear of the altar.

8.5. The Invocation Sequence

I. The Call to Presence

Step to the east of your circle. Hold the dagger aloft and say in a strong, commanding voice:

“By the will of Mars and the power of the Archer, I summon thee, Leraje, Marquis of the East, clad in green, bow in hand, eyes upon the mark. Come forth through smoke and flame, to lend thy precision to my cause.”

Begin chanting the enn:
“Caymen vefa Leraje”

Chant slowly at first, then building in rhythm until the atmosphere shifts. Watch the smoke in the Triangle and when it begins to coil or move unnaturally, know that his presence is near.

II. Pathworking into Leraje’s Domain

Close your eyes and visualize standing at the edge of a vast forest under a twilight sky. You see Leraje in green armor, drawing his bow. Each breath you take matches his steady inhale as he draws the string.

As you approach, speak your intent clearly in your mind. This inner journey should feel as vivid as the outer ritual.

III. The Petition

Open your eyes, take the iron arrowhead or symbolic arrow in both hands, and state your desire in concise, strategic terms:

“Leraje, let my aim be unerring. Let my rivals falter, their plans unravel, and their confidence fail. Let victory find me swiftly and decisively, as your arrow finds its mark.”

Pass the arrowhead through the incense smoke three times, each time seeing it absorb precision, swiftness, and inevitability.

IV. The Binding of Rivals

Take the black candle and, using its wax, seal a small laurel leaf to the arrowhead or nail. This fuses victory to the removal of opposition.

8.6. The Sealing

Place the empowered talisman upon Leraje’s sigil in the Triangle and let it rest there as you thank him for his presence:

“Green-clad archer, master of the mark, I thank thee for lending thy sight and thy arm. Depart in peace, but remain in influence.”

Extinguish candles in the reverse order of lighting, starting with the black candle last to symbolically “close” the influence over rivals.

8.7. Post-Ritual Integration

Keep the talisman (arrowhead or nail) with you or near you in all situations where competitive victory is sought. If the goal is achieved, offer Leraje the promised thanks with another cup of wine as a libation, bay leaves burned in his honor, or public praise of his name in your personal grimoire.

Relation and Symbiosis with Other Demons

Leraje works particularly well with the following demons as part of a demonic stack:

  • Belial: to secure legal or physical victory after Leraje has tilted the field in your favor.
  • Andras: for situations requiring the dissolution of alliances against you.
  • Eligos: to provide foresight and intelligence on your rivals’ strategies.

So in the right hands, Leraje is not a blunt instrument of war but a master marksman in the subtle and deadly art of securing advantage.
